Besides accepting cats and dogs, occasionally others wander in. Unusual animals at the shelter in 2011: one hamster, one ferret, three opossums, one raccoon, three injured hawks, one beaver, one robin, one dove, three squirrels, one rabbit, two... We also took in 71 flood dogs and 48 flood cats. Blankets give the dogs and puppies a secure feeling and keeps the very shorthaired dogs and puppies more comfortable wearing a sweater. The owners, displaced by the flood, were not charged a fee and most owners reclaimed their pets. This and that at the shelter: Friends, we are still in need of dog sweaters and blankets.
